You Like Scoundrels

Well, I've finally gotten around to rolling the bracket forward to the Final Four. Han Solo is the only #1 seed to have survived the first four rounds of this treacherous hive of scum and villainy (and some good guys).

Chewbacca topped Luke Skywalker by a 10-1 margin and will next match up with Captain Solo for a spot in the final.

Princess Leia was the first to notch a vote in this bracket against the formidable Yoda, but the savvy Jedi Master still managed to advance to the semifinal round, where he'll match up against Obi-Wan Kenobi, who shocked Darth Vader to take the Jawa Region.

So voting is now open on this round through the weekend. May the force be with you.

Vote on This Bracket You Will

So we're down to the final eight of the Star Wars bracket. Is it a coincidence that no characters from the prequels made it this far? Well, unless you count young Obi-Wan and boy Boba Fett and a little-less-old Yoda as being prequel characters. . .

Speaking of Yoda, he's on a roll. Through two rounds, 29 votes for and zero against! That's quite a streak.
Perhaps he's using some sort of Jedi mind trick to power his way to the final four.

As voting wrapped up last night, Boba Fett and Lando were in a 7-7 tie. I decided to let my 7-year-old son be the deciding vote since today's his birthday. He chose Boba Fett.

So now it's your turn to choose. We'll let this round of voting go through Easter weekend and then do the final four next week.

I Find Your Lack of Votes Disturbing

I mean, really? Fifteen voters? Maybe I should hire the Obama campaign to get people out to the polls!

Perhaps it was the lack of truly intriguing matchups. I mean, did Chief Chirpa really stand a chance against the mighty Chewbacca?

The first round was virtually all chalk - no Florida Gulf Coast stirring things up here. I kind of expected that Admiral Ackbar might pull an upset, but even he came up short against Emperor Palpatine. The only "upset" was R2-D2 rolling up C-3PO like an old carpet, earning 87% of the votes.

There were a fair amount of blowouts - seven entrants earned 100% of the votes, and 11 of the 16 winners earned 75% or more. We only had a couple of close calls - Uncle Owen edged out Aunt Beru, and of course Palpatine put together a late rally to topple Ackbar.

The second round offers some more thought-provoking matchups. Chewbacca vs. Darth Maul? Boba Fett against Lando Calrissian? Darth Vader or Uncle Owen? Okay, maybe not.

Anyways, have fun. Voting on this round thru Thursday evening and then we'll begin round three on Friday!

Star Wars Bracket!

So I found out just as I was about to launch my Star Wars Bracket to coincide with March Madness that starwars.com had also put out a Star Wars Character bracket. This bummed me out a little bit. And then I realized that theirs sucks. I mean, Asajj Ventress? Who even is that? Hondo Ohnaka? I have no idea. I haven't read any of the crappy books.

My bracket sticks strictly to the six movies and excludes all else. I mean, starwars.com isn't bringing you Han Solo vs. Greedo in round 1. Nor do they have Uncle Owen vs. Aunt Beru. I only duped a couple of their matchups, but that's not copying, we just had the same idea.

So vote for your favorites. Four regions of eight characters each, open now through Saturday night. Sixteen matchups in all so be sure to scroll down the page.

I'm not all fancy with the pics and stuff on the bracket. I do the best I can. If you need more info there's always Wookieepedia.
